Acupuncture in Harrison Study Shows Reduce Symptoms with Menopause.
Natural menopause is defined as the absence of menstruation for longer than 12 months, and it often comes with a wide range of unpleasant symptoms, such as insomnia, anxiety, night sweats, irritability, and of course hot flashes. However, a recent study found acupuncture to reduce or even eliminate most of the symptoms, improving quality of life and reducing stress/anxiety in women going through menopause. *INDIVIDUALS RESULTS MAY VARY
Researches at Taipei Medical University in Taiwan monitored 869 participants who was going through menopause while using 12 different treatment methods. One of the 12 methods was acupuncture, which proved to be the most effective at relieving the various forms of discomfort associated with menopause.
Women With Hot Flashes in Westchester County
Hot flashes are the single most common symptom reported by women, Michael explains. This condition is characterized by a sudden feeling of intense heat combined with excessive perspiration and a rapid heartbeat. They may last on average 2-30 minutes and often occur multiple times a day, Michael continues.
Most conventional treatment options for hot flashes are only effective for a short period of time, if at all. This is because these methods generally only mask the symptoms of the experience, at which point the problem can come back and retake control of a woman’s life. However, I have perfected an effective acupuncture treatment method that has been clinically demonstrated in helping many women reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes for at least 3 months after treatment, and in many cases we also see full resolution of symptoms. *INDIVIDUALS RESULTS MAY VARY) This is because the acupuncture treatment protocol does more for our patients than just address the surface of the problem. Every woman is unique, and that is why each treatment is specifically designed to resolve the underlying causes of the symptoms, thereby bringing about greater relief for longer intervals. My method is also extremely effective for insomnia and sleep-related problems in women going through their perimenopuse and menopause stage of their lives.
Michael goes on to explain, as the treatment addresses the underlying effects of hot flashes, it is likely creating a reduction in the concentration of B- endorphins in the hypothalamus, resulting from low concentrations of estrogen. This lower level could trigger the release of CGRP, which affects thermoregulation. It’s a great alternative treatment for women seeking non- pharmacologic therapies- and it’s affordable. *INDIVIDUALS RESULTS MAY VARY
